Like all Russell Lands developments, Baywood property values are protected by carefully crafted covenants and architectural review. Many city conveniences are nearby including shopping, dining, medical services and highly rated schools. Just a short "drive" away is Lakewinds Golf Course and River North Marina - a Russell Marine location. ![]() ![]() Willow Point is considered by many to be the "crown jewel" of Russell Lands developments. The first phase of Willow Point was the construction of the golf course in the early 1960's, recently renovated by Hurdzan-Fry into one of the finest golf courses in the South. This course is the centerpiece of the Willow Point Country Club and the residential development. The first lots were sold in Willow Point in 1972, providing fortunate purchasers spectacular views of Lake Martin. Residents enjoy gated security, level lots, beautiful forests and carefully controlled covenants and architectural standards. While many property owners initially built to use as a second home, the beauty of the area and the quality of the club have caused many people to make Willow Point their primary residence. Willow Point is located in the northwest section of Lake Martin in the Parker Creek area and is home to custom homes, wonderful lake-side townhomes and the Glynmere enclave of Craftsman-style homes. ![]() ![]() "Trillium" is actually the beautiful foliage that grows on the dense cool forest floors around Lake Martin. Much lovelier than the bracken ferns also native to this area, it is among the most admired small forest plants in the South. So it is a very fitting name for this loveliest of lake villages developed by Russell Lands on Lake Martin. Trillium is situated on the south side of the lake and is designed to take advantage of the beauty of the lake. This development has large lots with preserved mature timber and gently rolling land to the lakeshore. Development began in 1987 and reached a successful completion in 2004 with over 213 properties sold. Some of the most beautiful lake architecture in the country may be found at Trillium on Lake Martin. ![]() ![]() Windermere began in 1973 by Russell Lands is the standard by which all lakeside developments should be measured. Narrow streets with lovely treed canopies provide a shady avenue to every property within the development. Every lot is carefully positioned to take advantage of the gently sloping land and fantastic views available for this east-facing property. Windermere has always been a highly sought after location drawing most property owners to move to Lake Martin full time. Roughly 157 properties have been developed in Windermere, with many of the original "cabins" having been replaced with stunning full-time residences. ![]() ![]() Because of the tremendous appeal and success of Windermere, the western addition was begun in 1994. Like Windermere, the western sector has narrow streets covered by trees with the exception of the impressive main access road, which is the first boulevard-style road system on Lake Martin. While the development was influenced by city standards for road construction and underground utilities, the desire for rustic architecture was more closely embraced in Windermere West - providing many early influences on later developments like the Ridge and Willow Glynn. ![]() ![]() Windover was developed by Russell Lands in 1988 and completed the development of the series of coves on the lower east side of the Russell Lands property that includes Windermere, Windermere West and Windover. This sector connects immediately to the northern edge of The Ridge, Russell Lands' most ambitious development to date. While Windover is one of the smallest of the Russell Lands developments, it provides a wonderful example of responsible lakeside development. Large waterfront lots are accessed by lovely canopied streets throughout this enclave of secluded lake homes, many of which provide full-time residences as well as comfortable second homes. ![]() ![]() Begun in 1996, River Oaks was the first Russell Lands development on the north side of Lake Martin to be influenced by the successful and beautiful Windermere and Willow Point model. Careful consideration was given to the layout of each of the 66 lots that comprise the neighborhood, which sold out in early 2004. Lots in River Oaks enjoy western exposure on the main lake channel - the Tallapoosa River - and bend around to the quiet eastside setting of the Dennis Creek Cove, popular among lake lovers for water sports and angling. Located within the city limits of Alexander City, River Oaks provides easy access for shopping, schools, golf and medical needs. ![]() ![]() Raintree is one of the few "city" lake developments on Lake Martin. Located near the center of Alexander City, Raintree provides a great location for many locals and transplants to live in year-round residences on the shores of the lake. Raintree is set in a very quiet and deep cove on the northern edge of the lake, literally a lake within a lake. A secluded - almost private - entry near popular Wind Creek Park hides the miles of undeveloped shoreline that leads to Raintree. |
